NET4GAS has signed a grant agreement with the European Commission under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Energy program to support the preparatory phase of its Czech Hydrogen Backbone Network – WEST project. This project, which focuses on repurposing existing gas infrastructure for future hydrogen transport, forms an integral part of the Central European Hydrogen Corridor.
The project was selected in a highly competitive call, with only a few proposals chosen from over fifty nominations within the “Hydrogen Infrastructure in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (HI East)” regional group. The grant will support the development of project documentation and environmental assessments required for future permitting.
This recognition not only confirms the strategic importance of NET4GAS’s infrastructure but also reinforces the relevance of the entire Central European Hydrogen Corridor in the development of a future-proof, cross-border hydrogen network in Europe. The successful selection of this project underlines the corridor’s role in supporting the EU’s energy transition and hydrogen market integration goals.
