We are proud to announce that our CEHC corridor has again been included (as items 10.2.3, 10.5 and 10.13) in the new EU list of Projects of Common Interest and Projects of Mutual Interest (PCI/PMI) that entered into force on 29 April 2026. This list is the second one under the revised TEN-E regulation.
As a novelty, the involvement of our Ukrainian partners has been more explicitly recognised by means of a dedicated PMI project. Also, the part of the CEHC located in the EU territory has been defined in more detail in the current PCI/PMI list. As a result, there are four projects in total in the current PCI/PMI list that are an integral part of the CEHC corridor:
- 10.2.3 Internal hydrogen infrastructure in Germany [currently known as “H2ercules Network South- East”] – a PCI project,
- 10.5.1 Internal hydrogen infrastructure in Slovakia [currently known as “Slovak Hydrogen Backbone”] – a PCI project,
- 10.5.2 Internal hydrogen infrastructure in Czechia [currently known as “Czech Hydrogen Backbone North”] – a PCI project, and
- 10.13 Internal hydrogen infrastructure in Ukraine [currently known as “Central European Hydrogen Corridor (UKR part)”] – a PMI project.
We perceive the renewed inclusion of the corridor in the PCI/PMI list as a confirmation not only of its strategic significance, but also of the importance, and the excellent level, of cross-border cooperation between the four partnering Transmission System Operators and the respective countries’ authorities.
Similarly, the preservation of the PCI status proves that the transition towards low-emission gases – including hydrogen – in the gas infrastructure can significantly contribute to strengthening energy security and climate protection.
In practical terms, achieving PCI status provides a multiple benefits to our projects, notably simplified and faster permitting procedures, regulatory incentives or the possibility to apply for funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
